Expressive Arts and Design

Expressive arts and design in EYFS promotes the development of children's artistic and cultural awareness supporting their imagination and creativity.  The frequency, repetition and depth of their experiences are fundamental to their progress in interpreting and appreciating what they hear, respond to and observe.

Items to find:

Tray - use a tray with a lip so the contents are contained

Cups - big and small

Bowls - big or small

Spoons - large or small

Oats, cereal, rice 

Encourage your child to fill and empty the containers.  The story that could relate to this activity is Goldilocks and the 3 bears with different sized bowls of porridge.

Items to find:

Fork - any size

Homemade paint - mix chocolate powder with water/yoghurt. Gravy powder with water or potato flakes

Plate - paper plate, plastic plate

Eyes, nose - cut pieces of paper or use images out of a magazine
