Poppy 2022

Our topic for this term is 'Somewhere over the rainbow' and we are reading Pete the Cat, I love my white shoes.

In Poppy class, this half term, we are reading the books 'Monsteraurus' and 'Three Little Pigs' and our activities are themed around these topics.

Three Little Pigs massage

The first little pig made a house of straw.

One firm squeeze at the top of the arms (both hands) followed by a wavy, swishing movement with both hands, down the back (or front if sitting facing the child).

 

The wolf huffed and puffed and blew the house down.

Start at the waist and do a palm tree movement, moving outwards and upwards until you reach the shoulders. Do a sawing motion on either side of the spine/chest, top to bottom.

 

The second little pig made a house of sticks.

Two firm squeezes at the top of the arms (both hands) followed by downwards strokes from the top of the arm down to the wrists x3.

 

The wolf huffed and puffed and blew the house down.

Start at the waist and do a palm tree movement, moving outwards and upwards until you reach the shoulders. Do a sawing motion on either side of the spine/chest, top to bottom.

 

The third little pig made a house of bricks

Three firm squeezes at the top of the arms (both hands) followed by cupping and rolling with both hands from the waist up to the shoulder blades (or top of chest if forward facing)

 

The wolf huffed and puffed and huffed and puffed but couldn’t blow the house down.

Start at the waist and do a palm tree movement, moving outwards and upwards until you reach the shoulders x 3. Massage with fingertips from the bottom of the neck outwards along the shoulders.

 

All three little pigs were safe.

Three firm squeezes at the top of the arms (both hands) followed by hands overlapping each other down the back/chest.    

 

Top
