5th January 2021

Vulnerable pupils - All LZW pupils have EHCPs, we are unable to offer onsite provision to all pupils in this category, especially as in order to respond to the increasing infection rate we must minimise the amount to people on site. School is applying government and local guidance to identify our most vulnerable pupils and will contact families separately to discuss onsite provision. We will contact you before the end of Wednesday to discuss provision offer.

If you have not been contacted and you feel your child needs some onsite provision, please contact school for further discussion.

FSM vouchers will be issued as soon as the local authority system is operational. If your financial circumstances have changed you may now qualify for FSM. Contact us so we can support your application.

Contact school office, teacher * or family workers:

  • If you have no IT device for your child to access online learning, we have some devices that can be loaned out
  • If you require equipment at home (if collection is not possible we can deliver)
  • If you want learning packs at home (if collection is not possible we can deliver)
  • You need instructions for accessing IT, FSM vouchers
  • If you need access to additional support

Your class teacher will be in contact about the variety of forms of remote learning. Phone calls will be from an “unknown number”.

4th January Update

Dear parent/ carers,

As you will have heard this evening all schools are to close immediately. Therefore there will be no on site education for any pupils at LZW tomorrow.

We will then re-open from week commencing 11th January offering on site schooling for key workers' children and most vulnerable pupils (this will be similar on site provision as Lockdown  last March). Other pupils will be engaged in a variety of remote learning opportunities.

As you can imagine, this will take time to organise. We will be in contact with you over the coming week with further details about your child's education provision for the coming half term.

Naturally we are all so disappointed to be in this position once again, and it is incredibly difficult for the pupils of LZW to understand this situation. Please pass on our best wishes to you child, it will be so good to eventually get back to normal life once more.

Best regards,

The Lady Zia Wernher school team
